Prepare For Your Consultation

This page contains very detailed information to help prepare you (Potential Clients) for your consultation and litigation.  Please carefully review the information on this page as it relates to your case type, and gather the requested documents so that your consultation is productive.  For instructions and instructional videos on how to use Zoom and Dropbox, please click the button below.

1. Complete the FILE FACE SHEET sent to you directly from MyCase, our legal practice management platform. 
2. Please DOWNLOAD and carefully READ and REVIEW the documents below that relate to your case type. (You can open them in Adobe Acrobat Reader).
3. Please scroll down to the Important Consultation Information & Instructions document.  This document includes what documents you should gather and submit to us BEFORE your consultation, it also includes the instructions on how to use Zoom and DropBox. 
4. Please scroll down to the last section of this page to download and read the SAMPLE Retainer Agreement for your case type. Some of the sample retainer agreements DO NOT include the retainer fee.  The retainer fee and costs will be discussed during your consultation, or you may text the office at (901) 437-6508.  There are PAY LATER or legal financing options available through Affirm should you desire to explore that option.
5. HOW TO FORWARD US DOCUMENTS/EVIDENCE TO REVIEW: Potential Clients, please email the requested documents BEFORE your consultation.  No screenshots unless of social media postings, or multiple text message threads, but please make sure they are organized and labeled. (1) Please scan and email the documents in 1 email, or (2) send them via a SHARED DropBox folder link to LStokes@wedofamilylaw.com,  or (3) schedule a time to hand-deliver them to our office before your consultation. Our office is By Appointment Only.

CONSULTATIONS

• VIRTUAL CONSULTATIONS: Please use the Zoom link included on your booking confirmation page to log in on the day of your consultation. If you are not familiar with Zoom, please download the Zoom app and test it out before your scheduled consultation to avoid any delays. The consultation is only one (1) hour so we want to be productive during that time.  Please see the consultation etiquette below. 
• IN-PERSON CONSULTATIONS: Please bring a face mask with you to the appointment. Our office is located in the White Station Tower/IBank Building at 5050 Poplar Ave., Suite 1520, Memphis, Tennessee 38157. There is an IBank logo on the top of the building. We are located in the same lot as the Malco Paradiso, Whole Foods,  and the old Houston's restaurant.  Please note that the consultation is only one (1) hour, so please arrive early so your consultation can start when scheduled. It will conclude as scheduled.  Please also download the Zoom app and familiarize yourself with that platform,  as court is often virtual and most client meetings will be virtual.

CONSULTATION ETIQUETTE:

• No driving, walking, etc. Please be in a stationary position, so that you can take notes.
• No recording is allowed
• Make sure the Wi-Fi signal is stable
• Make sure NO ONE else is present during your consultation 
• Make sure you are not in a noisy location
• Only the potential client will be allowed in the consultation to protect attorney/client privilege!! No third parties are allowed in the consultation, this includes your spouse, significant other, or parents, unless the client is a minor.
